Winnetka farms is a (Sub)Urban Farmstead located in the west San Fernando valley of Los Angeles growing an impressive and diverse amount of food on a 1/2 acre lot. Winnetka Farms grows primarily Italian heirloom vegetables, using sustainable and organic practices, that it supplies to two Los Angeles area restaurants. Winnetka Farms is also active in seed saving and experiments to select vegetables that are adapted to the Southern California climate. In addition to vegetables and fruits, you can find a large flock of heritage Barnevelder chickens at Winnetka, kept for both meat and eggs.
