Langley Farms is a family farm located in Petaluma, California on a twenty-three acre ranch run by Pete and his three daughters, Kasie, Hanna, and Claire Langley.
Although chickens and cattle are raised, the main focus is hog production where they specialize in humanely raised, antibiotic free, and growth hormone free heritage pork. Berkshire, Duroc, Yorkshire, Poland China and Crossbred breeds are bred to develop the juiciest and most tender pork available. The pork has the proper amount of muscle to fat ratio for the best possible flavor.
The sows farrow inside the barn where they are protected from the outside elements. They are allowed to root and forage in the pasture with their piglets when the weather permits. After weaning, the pigs are moved to large outdoor communal natural dirt and grass pens where they have access to a covered inside pen with thick layers of fresh shavings or straw. The vegetarian based feed consists of quality grains from Dairyman’s Feed & Supply, Clover Stornetta dairy products, Saint Benoit Organic Yogurt and breads and other baked goods from local bakeries.
Boars, bred gilts, and weaned piglets are sold right off the farm and personally delivered as stress free as possible to California All Natural for harvesting. Langley’s hogs are raised in a very happy environment from birth to harvest.
