Phone: (734) 428-9100 Our CSA (summer and winter CSA) is in Manchester Michigan and we raise 40 some types of vegetables, flowers, honey, herbs, eggs and pigs. All of our vegetables are grown naturally, and we abide by organic principles. That means that your food won't have residues of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers on it. Although we are not certified organic we still choose to raise our plants in a natural fashion. About eighty years ago my mother and father started raising free range poultry. They raised laying hens, fryers, and roasters. I can remember when I was very young, Saturday mornings were spent either at the feed mill getting chicken feed ground or processing the poultry. We had about five hundred laying hens when my father died. I was 12. My mother knew in order to to make a living we needed more laying hens. We built a five thousand cage laying house for our chickens. Little did we know that we and our society had taken a big step backwards in nutrition and our health by putting chickens in cages. Today all our chickens are once again free range. They are fed a vegetarian diet, and are not given any hormones or antibiotics. We now know that when chickens eat green plants it provides a cleansing effect. In addition to raising poultry, our farm grows vegetables year round. In the summer we produce a broad range of field grown vegetables. We also have year-round hydroponic production. Check out our variety of vegetable crops. (from www.ourfamilyfarmllc.com)
