Wild Hive Farm micromill is located one mile east of our Café/Bakery in the Village of Clinton Corners on wild-hive-mill the Salt Point Turnpike, and houses our grain mills, chickens, goats, test plots for seeds, and our emerging education center. Currently, it is not open to the public, except for special events and occasions, but with the help and enthusiasm of our community, that could change!
We have the goal of launching a test kitchen, and weekend milling demonstrations at this site, and to turn the mill into an interactive learning center, but we are constantly jumping hurdles to keep our grassroots milling operation operational. We like to simply think of it as growing pains. Keep your eyes peeled while we update the timeline, photos, video, and info on how you can get involved!
At the Wild Hive Mill, just to be clear, while we do not have an organic certification of our own, we ONLY used certified organic, local grains in our mill. What that means for you, is that there are NEVER any herbicides, pesticides, or GMO grains or corn running through our veins (or mill, for that matter) and while there is no plan to be certified ourselves, we only use these same grains in all of our production at the cafe and bakery. All of our test plots are also grow at or above organic requirement for certification for future seed, also. We are absolutely opposed at all times to the use of genetically modified seeds and we welcome ways that we could help us make that stand. (from their website).
