Our vision is to be a sustainable farm. Our mission is to offer the best fresh from the farm produce possible. Our goal is to educate communities about farm life, eating local, and fun on the farm. Like your own garden with out the work! Pregitzer Farm Market started as a roadside stand in 1996. *In 2003 we moved a quarter mile north to a horse farm, which was promptly turned into a produce farm. *We broadened our vision in 2005 with a focus on farm entertainment and education. This generated phenomenal growth resulting in Wade's dream of farming for a living a tangible goal. *In 2007 we started the CSA program with 10 shares. The following year the CSA grew to 40 shares. We also had one of our greenhouses operating and started to grow flowers and some of our own vegetable plants. Business continued to grow at our home store and at farm markets. In the fall Wade was able to quit his offsite job and work full time on the farm. *With three finished greenhouses, we were able to start all of our own plants in 2009. We also attended three farm markets weekly. A couple beef cows were added to the farm and we also had poultry and eggs to sell. The CSA grew to 106 families! *In 2010 we had 120 CSA shares with delivery in Ann Arbor, Jackson, Chelsea, Stockbridge along with a farm pick up. We added an egg share and continued to sell poultry and eggs at our stand and farm markets. We also sold beef and had a huge interest in more so we bought cattle. We built two small cold frames for 2011. Our greenhouses produced more than 80,000 vegetable and flower plants! *In 2011 our goal is to have 140+ CSA shares. If there is enough interest we will add a delivery to East Lansing. We will continue to grow the best quality vegetable and flower plants. Including hanging baskets and combination pots; we also do custom planting. Due to the economy we will cut back on some of the bedding and odd vegetable plants. The farm will still produce all natural eggs, poultry, and beef and look forward to increasing sales. We will be using our cold frames with the hope of having earlier vegetables. We are looking forward to 2011 being our best year yet!
